The second process in our Painterly Prints series, soap ground is a semi-permeable resist that breaks down over time in the acid, achieving a variety of tones with a single etch. This process is compatible with any metal suitable for making etchings. Our ongoing series of process booklets are designed as comprehensive and accessible learning tools for a variety of analogue printmaking techniques.
